About AGAP...

AGAP: the society of friends of the Old Post Office Gallery

Located at the ends of Yonne, Nièvre and Loiret French "départements", Puisaye is a natural area in Burgundy where have been preserved the charm and appeal of an old enchanted land as well as famous earthware and pottery. Nowadays, Puisaye is home to numerous potters and ceramists whose works contribute to a modern and living art: ceramics.

Robert Deblander  Nathalie Pierlot

Contemporary Ceramics

In 1997, ceramists living and working in Puisaye, joined together to found an exhibition site in Toucy (Yonne): the Galerie de l’Ancienne Poste is dedicated to earth arts and is a non-profit organization.

Jean-Michel Doix

The building is a 17th century city mansion and was for decades the Toucy Post Office. Shown works are unique pieces of ceramics, paintings and sculptures, with the artist's signature and a true aesthetical value.

Since its foundation, our society main purpose is to promote artistic contemporary ceramics. We organize exhibitions six times a year with the works of world-class ceramists.

   Brigitte Sabatier   Marcel Poulet

AGAP wishes to play an educational role and to spread knowledge about ceramics. Lectures and conferences are organized, and a bookshop area is available, where you can find books, reviews and catalogs about clayware, earthenware, pottery, ceramics or Puisaye sandstones.

Friendly open

During year 2009, the Gallery attrated more than 9.000 visitors. Our faithfull clients and collectors come and come again and again from Burgundy, France, Europe and abroad, to discover the Gallery exhibitions.

Our society has gathered about a hundred members so far. Members receive a newsletter four times a year via regular mail.

Friendly and open, the Galerie de l’Ancienne Poste is a place for sharing and discovering creation in contemporary ceramics.
